IDEAlliance + IPA and The International Cooperation for the Integration of the Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress (CIP4) organization announced the addition of a JDF 1.4/1.4a module to the JDF Expert Certificate program. The JDF Expert Certificate program is now a 15-part training program designed to teach anyone interested in process automation the fundamentals of JDF. “This program was designed with the printer and premedia professional in mind,” said Steve Bonoff, executive vice president of marketing at IDEAlliance + IPA.

IDEAlliance®  announced today that its 2011 eMediaPro Certification Program is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 15, 2011. IDEAlliance launched its eMediaPro Certification Program in early 2010 to fill the digital media knowledge gap for print production and information technology professionals. More than fifty production and IT professionals have enrolled to become eMediaPros to assist their company’s transition from operating print-centric workflows to enabling eMedia production, including eReaders, mobile devices, and other digital technologies.

G7 is IDEAlliance’s industry-leading set of best practices for achieving gray balance and is the driving force for achieving visual similarity across all print processes. The G7 System Certification Program is designed to evaluate the ability of a software system to calibrate a printing device to meet the G7 grayscale definition using four 1-D Curves. The 2011 Printing Guidelines Poster is designed to help print buyers and print providers achieve consistent, high quality color printing, according to the latest G7® specifications and ISO standards.

IDEAlliance hosted a joint meeting of the IDEAlliance eMedia21 Publishers Forum Ghent Work Group on October 6th. The goal of the joint meeting was to seek input and participation by GWG members in two key IDEAlliance initiatives.The first initiative is to pilot test the new IDEAlliance Ad Insertion Order Confirmation Specification. During this meeting, the publishers who developed this XMP specification, designed to expedite the billing cycle for advertising materials worked with the ad portal vendors from GWG, to develop a pilot test plan.
