Previewing the newest global standard based certification and training to grow communication amongst the supply chain.

Last month, I touched on the need for education amongst the supply chain to printers, print buyers and brands. An aligning strategy for that is also communication.

The Print Quality eXchange (PQX®) initiative, developed by Idealliance, is a key asset of communication amongst the supply chain. The PQX reporting language standardizes reporting for print output and production in a formatted structure recognized around the world by OEMs, technology providers, print manufacturers, and print buyers.

Idealliance is proud to offer members a sneak peek at the upcoming PQX® Expert program. As the foundation of ISO 20616-2, which was published in 2020, Idealliance is finalizing the new PQX Expert Online Training & Certification program, coming July 30, 2021.

The course is delivered via the new Idealliance Online Learning Platform, launched just last year, and features direct hands-on exercises and content prepared in collaboration with Dianne Kennedy, editor of the ISO 20616-2 standard, and former Idealliance XML evangelist and working group liaison. A demo license to one of the industry’s first PQX tools is also included with the course to facilitate the hands-on exercises.

Along with our other globally recognized certification programs, PQX Experts will be recognized in the official Idealliance certification directory, along with a certificate and badge to demonstrate proficiency as a leader in implementing and driving PQX based supply chain alignment.

The new Print Quality eXchange (PQX®) online certification course from Idealliance teaches the Print Quality eXchange reporting language, which standardizes reporting for print output and production in a formatted structure recognized around the world by OEMs, technology providers, print manufacturers, and print buyers.

According to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), “ISO 20616-2 specifies an extensible file format in conformity with W3C Extensible Markup Language (XML) 1.0, for the exchange of print quality data and metadata between quality control applications including but not limited to colour measurement, process control and quality management systems.” Idealliance, as the leading print and graphic communications training and certification body, is proud to offer this specification, which is based on PQX.

We are proud to offer this training and certification opportunity to the industry and are excited to continue to work with our members and educational partners to continue this mission to raise the bar for all members of the industry and print supply chain.

Happy belated 4th of July to our US members, and stay well!
