Idealliance Supports Members of the Graphic Communications & Print Production Supply Chain with Products & Tools for Leading Process Control, Education, and Standards Alignment

Quality control devices are a vital part of any color management workflow process control for leading print production.

T-Reference Color Reference Cards are printed for agencies, printers, publishers, separators …anyone who wants to control color reproduction quality!

T-Reference Card

Additional Image

T-Ref consists of a printed sample of white, yellow, cyan, magenta, and black circular SWOP ink patches, with readings calibrated to the ANSI Status “T” response, and with calibration traceable to National Institute of Science and Technology primary references.

Measure the color patches on your wide-band Status “T” densitometer and compare the readings against T-Ref’s calibrated values. If they don’t match, you should review the results with densitometer’s manufacturer for possible re-calibration. By using the T-Ref you will be assured that your densitometer is reading as accurately as possible and can determine inter-instrument agreement within your plant or between companies.

T-Ref was created to be the first reference material to comply with CGATS.11 and is an essential component of any ISO 9000 program. Both T-Ref  and Enhanced T-Ref consist of a laminated card packaged in a protective folder.

Enhanced T-Reference Card

Additional Image

Enhanced T-Ref includes both Status “T” and Status “E” certified readings. Status “E” is the ANSI standard for European wideband transmission densitometer response. With the Enhanced T-Ref you can use this SRM to check your transmission densitometers for both North America and European customers. Both T-Ref and Enhanced T-Ref consist of a laminated card packaged in a protective folder.

Lab Reference Card

Additional Image

Lab Ref is designed to allow colorimeter, spectrophotometer, and hybrid color measurement device users to verify that their equipment can measure colors accurately in terms of CIE specified values. Subtle differences in the design, calibration, and operation of this equipment can lead to different units yielding different colorimetric values, even when measuring the same sample. In turn, the difference in these values can create uncertainty about the accuracy of any one unit as well as confusion in the communication of CIE data.

As the industry’s objective third-party L*, a*, b* reference, Lab Ref eliminates confusion and allows confident exchange of CIE data from all pieces of equipment verified with it. Available in 6mm (shown) and 36mm spot sizes. Targets include paper white, black, primary colors (cyan, magenta, and yellow), secondary colors (process red, process green, process blue), tertiary colors (three-color gray), and selected other hues (brown, purple and pastel) from different regions of the reproducible color gamut in order to provide a rigorous check of a color measurement device’s capabilities.

Printed on 80 pound Carolina C1S free sheet stock. Rigorous analysis of this sheet reveals no fluorescence of significance. Printed with inks measured as being in conformance with Specifications for Web Offset Publications (SWOP). As specified in ANSI/ISO standards, each Lab-Ref is under printed with a black backing of not less than 1.30 density. Laminated for protection with a material that is transparent and has very little near-ultraviolet absorption.

Custom X-Rite T-Ref

Additional Image

Custom X-Rite T-Ref is a printed Standard Reference Material (SRM) for agencies, printers, publishers, separators …anyone who wants to control color reproduction quality! The Custom X- Rite T-Ref consists of a printed sample of white, yellow, cyan, magenta, and black square SWOP ink patches, with readings calibrated to the ANSI Status “T” response, and with calibration traceable to National Institute of Science and Technology primary references. This custom X- Rite T-Ref can be used on X-Rite’s scanning densitometers or spectrophotemeters as well as their strip reader, DTP41.

By using the Custom X-Rite T-Ref you will be assured that your densitometer is reading as accurately as possible and can determine inter-instrument agreement within your plant or between companies.
Measure the color patches on your X-Rite Status “T” densitometer and compare the readings against T-Ref’s calibrated values. If they don’t match, you should review the results with densitometer’s manufacturer for possible re-calibration.

T-Ref was created to be the first reference material to comply with CGATS.11 and is an essential component of any ISO 9000 program. Please note: As this is a custom color reference card, orders will take at least one to two weeks to be measured and shipped out.

The Instrument Inspector is a physical target used to validate how your spectrophotometer device measures color and verify its stability over time.

When you purchase an Instrument Inspector target, you receive access to the Online Control Center, secured account at Chromachecker.com, where you’ll find access to a wealth of industry comparison data, plus access to your target’s online home.

There are three versions of Instrument Inspector targets to match most every measurement device. Click here for full details.

How does it works?

    • Use the Instrument Inspector to capture reference data off the physical target and establishing a baseline for how your instrument measures color.
    • Upload the baseline data to your secured, Online Control Center at www.chromachecker.com, to be used as a reference point for all future analysis.
    • Regularly check the accuracy of your instrument by remeasuring the target and comparing against your stored baseline data.
    • Compare multiple instruments to one another to determine that all your instruments (in your shop and supply chain) are measuring color within your accepted level of color tolerance.
    • If the Instrument Inspector target data trends out of the manufacturer’s specified tolerances, you have lost critical confidence to produce a consistent, stable printed product and…you must take corrective action!

Instrument Inspector – X42 Target

Additional Image
X-42 Target is designed for most instruments on the market but focused on X-Rite instruments including DTP70, iSis, i1Pro, i1iO.

Includes the Instrument Inspector target and access to the Online Control Center for the lifetime of the target.

Instrument Inspector – I42 Target

Additional Image
I-42 Target can be used with most automated strip measuring devices. It has the same 42 patches in the same sequence + extra four CMYK patches required by ITX software. Those CMYK patches are ignored during uploading data. It can be used with hand held devices in Spot mode. Do not measure first 4 patches (K,C,M,Y).

Includes the Instrument Inspector target and access to the Online Control Center for the lifetime of the target.

Instrument Inspector – B42 Target

Additional Image
B-42 Target is designed for Barbieri instruments. Can be used with hand held devices in Spot mode. For full compatibility list, check manual.

Includes the Instrument Inspector target and access to the Online Control Center for the lifetime of the target.
