This is not accomplished by hiding our heads in the proverbial sand until the economy improves. Instead, we need to take steps to assure the quality and efficiency of our production workflow. And this is exactly what the 2009 IPA Technical Conference—June 8-10 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois, is designed to accomplish. View Program IPA Launches Landmark Examination of Digital Print Participating companies and systems to be tested include Canon C7000VP, Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105-10P, HP Indigo 7000, Kodak NexPress S3000, Océ CS665 Pro, Presstek 52DI, Screen Truepress 344, Toshiba e-STUDIO6530c, Xeikon 8000, Xeikon 3300, and Xerox iGen4. Testing results—to be reported first at the IPA Technical conference—will provide an invaluable resource for buyers of digital print production devices in determining which system matches their company’s needs and market conditions. More Proofing and JDF RoundUPs are back! The JDF RoundUP will include an examination of MIS to Prepress, ICS and MIS to Conventional Press ICS, and the LayCrimp test. Tests will help identify strengths and opportunities for improvement and implementation of various JDF enabled solutions. More 2009 Business Development Conference a hit! In spite of the down economy, the recent IPA Business Development Conference saw an increase in attendance over the 2008 conference with attendees taking advantage of a customer-focused program to enhance their business development opportunities. Clients were on hand to share their needs and “empowerment of the client” was a clear theme throughout the conference. The conference examined new business opportunities available—for both the service provider and clients—through new and emerging technologies as well as multi-channel communications. Watch for complete conference coverage in the March/April issue of the IPA Bulletin. Welcome New IPA Members Harding Poorman Group Hirt and Carter Ltd.
