Alexandria, VA (August 27, 2020) – Idealliance, the world’s leading global graphic communications industry association, is pleased to announce that Jeff Collins has been named Idealliance’s Vice President of Research & Development. In this new position, Collins will lead Idealliance’s role in redefining print workflows with best practices through the development of new guidelines, specifications and research and training initiatives. He will expand the association’s “how-to” curriculum across all Idealliance training platforms including its new shift to providing live online training.

Jeff Collins, Idealliance Vice President of Research & DevelopmentCollins joined the Idealliance Team in 2018 and is recognized globally for his expertise in print technologies and workflows. Prior to joining Idealliance he served as Vice-Chairman for Idealliance’s GRACoL Working Group from 2006-2014. He was also an active member of the Print Properties Council (PPC), where core global print standards are developed.

“As Idealliance looks to the future of the print and packaging supply chain, explores cutting-edge technology such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), strives to create relevant training and certification courses in color management, and identifies new ways to streamline and standardize the industry, we needed someone to lead the charge,” said Dick Ryan, Idealliance Acting CEO. “Jeff is perfect for the job. He is well-connected with what is happening in the industry, and has already been responsible for planning, demonstrating, and explaining best practices in a wide range of business scenarios to promote more efficient and cost-effective print technologies and workflows. In this expanded role, he will have even more impact.”

His manufacturing experience spans the gamut of printed products in packaging, labels, publications, e-commerce, and premedia/service bureaus.

As Vice President of R&D, Collins will continue to work closely with the entire supply chain to create and evangelize new and evolving programs on the practical advantages of color management best practices, print technologies, and standardized workflows to place Idealliance in the forefront of print communication architecture. He will improve and expand informational and educational content and develop new certification and training programs that serve the global marketplace. He will also continue to host the popular weekly Idealliance GAMUT Podcast, reaching thousands globally in the print and packaging supply chain.
