Everything You Want to Know About Workflow
As you plan your calendar for 2009, be sure to circle June 8-10 so you don’t miss the IPA Technical Conference at the Intercontinental Hotel, Rosemont, Illinois. In addition to its comprehensive conference
sessions focusing on workflow, this year’s event will see a return and expansion of the Proofing RoundUPs (examining both hard and soft proofing). A JDF RoundUP will include tests that identify strengths as well as opportunities for improvement
and implementation of JDF-enabled solutions; and IPA will report on its 2nd Digital Print Forum, which will include an even wider testing criteria. Last year’s

Next Issue of IPA Bulletin Available Electronically
With more and more IPA members and customers accessing resources via IPA’s media-rich website, the IPA staff began to look at the opportunity and benefits of providing an electronic version of the IPA Bulletin in addition to its print version. After much research and consulting with other publications that produce both a print and an electronic version, the decision was made to launch the IPA Bulletin online beginning with the January/February 2009 issue. IPA CMP Course Addresses Photographic Workflow
IPA’s newest module in its Color Management Professional (CMP) Program, Color Management for Photography, is designed for those seeking to understand how to properly color manage digital media through a photographic imaging workflow. The photography course is composed of six video lessons of approximately three hours in length. The program describes the fundamental principles of color management for photography for those familiar with basic color theory and print production processes. The course examines the importance of profiling and explains how to create accurate monitor and digital camera color profiles.

Soft Proofing Webinar Available for Download
Based on Abhay Sharma’s independent analysis of leading soft proofing systems, the IPA webinar Soft Proofing, The Hard Facts examines the systems’ ease of use in calibrating monitors, annotating proofs, collaborating with customers, enabling client sign off, and tracking and verifying the status of the person viewing the remote proof.
