IPA to Conduct 2nd Digital Print Forum
IPA will conduct its second annual examination of digital press systems, the Digital Print Forum, in early 2009. In 2008, IPA released its first independent, technical examination of digital printing technologies. The 2008 IPA Digital Print Forum provided an exhaustive study of digital printing, covering most aspects of digital print production. Led again by Dr. Abhay Sharma, the 2009 Forum will include even wider testing criteria. To participate in the forum planning process, email Steve Bonoff, steve@ipa.org.

IPA Mourns Passing of Doug Brazell
It is with deep sadness we report the death of Douglas Brazell. Prior to his retirement, he was president and CEO of American Color, the company he founded in 1975 and during his tenure turned into one of the largest premedia companies in the country. Doug passed away July 30 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was 74. With the passing of Doug Brazell, IPA lost a good friend and dedicated supporter. He served as a member of the IPA Board of Directors, chairman of the Management Committee and as a member of several other IPA committees. A visionary, Doug brought valuable insight to IPA, encouraging the board and staff to think outside the proverbial box.IPA extends its sympathy to Doug’s wife, Sue; sons, Bryan Brazell, Stanley Brazell and Dennis Dickerson; daughters, Alayne Jurgens, Tami Sullivan and Shelley Cates; and 11 grandchildren.
