IPA President, Steve Bonoff, to Attend drupa
For the next few weeks, the industry will be focusing on drupa 2008. With more than 1,800 exhibitors spread across 170,000 square meters, drupa will welcome more than 400,000 visitors from May 29 to June 11 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Drupa 2008 has many new attractions—from compass sessions and highlight tours to drupa innovation parc—that will allow visitors to take a journey into the future. The unique special exhibitions present a detailed overview of the innovative nature of the print media industry. Steve will be meeting with international suppliers, potential association industry partners as well as international premedia companies to spread the word about IPA and its resources. If you're attending drupa let Steve know.

New IPA Webinars on CD
IPA webinars now available online include:Best Practices for Workflow Automation. Does Your Client’s Future Include Digital Printing?
Whether you are already involved in digital printing, considering it as a future service, or advising clients about it, you need the 2008 IPA Digital Print Forum report. Demand for the booklet has been remarkable and IPA is moving into its second printing. The report—which includes actual samples from various printing devices—contains color analysis data never before compiled and analyzed. It also includes an outline of the methodology for the 2008 IPA Digital Print Forum. Color gamut was measured, color consistency over a long pressrun was mapped, and the ability to reproduce Pantone™ colors was shown. In the process, many questions were answered, including: How many Pantone colors can each press reproduce? and Can a digital press match GRACoL? Order report >>

IPA Compensation Study Answers Critical Questions
Do you know what employee benefits are offered by all firms and which are offered by only a few? Do you know how many companies have non-compete agreements with employees? Do you know the average compensation for executive and production employees—based on company size? You will find the answers to these and many more questions in IPA’s recently released Compensation Study. The report includes data on all key positions from creative through output, including executive and management as well as administrative, sales and production. Providing a fair and equitable compensation plan is a huge challenge. If the plan is not competitive, employees will not be attracted to the company. If the plan is too generous, profits will suffer. Contributions to the IPA/Swan Scholarship Fund
Since our announcement in the last newsletter of the passing of Robert Swan, we have had several calls asking about memorial contributions. Since nothing was specified, we are suggesting contributions to the IPA/Robert S. Swan Endowed Scholarship Fund. Contact Molly Illes for details.
